Michael Taylor

Michael Taylor is a native Greenwood, Mississippi. Born May 8, 1958,
Michael absorbed the unique culture of the Mississippi Delta in his
youth. He relocated to Central Illinois in 1978. Working as a
performer, composer, and songwriter  he has provided his own special
thread to the musical tapestry of the Central Illinois region. Blues
ensembles Michael has performed with include J.D. Blue, The Big Bad
Blues Machine, Eddie Snow and the Snowflakes, Bob Kat and the Missing
Lynx and the Michael Taylor Blues Band.  Michael has shared the big
time stage with Blues legends B.B. King and the late great Fenton
Robinson.

Michael will be performing solo in the tradition of the Acoustic
Delta Blues artists of the 1930’s and 1940’s.

“Fingerstyle solo guitar has always been a passion for me. The Blues
played that way takes the music back to it's beginnings and it’s a
lot easier to put rehearsals together.”
